Universe 5: Awakening Power
"The artifact glowed in my hands. It was... waiting for me. And Alpha Core... it transforms everything." Universe 5 is the economic revolution. Artifacts reveal active powers. Alpha Core enriches raw Neutronium for the first time. And Nuclear Ports — the game's most important buildings — become buildable on radioactive deposits. The exponential income engine ignites.
What Unlocks in Universe 5
Artifact Event Powers Alpha Core Enrichment Nuclear Port Construction 7 Artifact Types
Universe 5 activates three interconnected systems. First, artifact cards reveal event powers — each artifact now triggers a specific board effect when used. Second, Alpha Core can now enrich Raw Neutronium, converting it to Enriched Nn that can actually be spent on buildings and actions. Third, Nuclear Ports can be built on radioactive deposit segments, starting the exponential income system that defines the mid-to-late game. These three systems unlock simultaneously and immediately change the strategic calculus of every turn.
The Story: Awakening Power
Deep memories surge forward. Artifacts are not just valuable objects — they possess POWER. Each artifact responds to the Hero's will, as if created for them specifically. Understanding of Alpha Core deepens — this ancient station at the galaxy's center can purify Neutronium, turning useless raw resource into pure energy.
The knowledge feels ancient, familiar. You have used it before. Many times. And now, looking at the radioactive deposits scattered across the galaxy — the glowing hexes you passed over in Universe 2 for their modest 2 Nn yield — you understand what they really are. They are not just deposits. They are foundations. Infrastructure waiting to be built.
Nuclear Port System — Introduction
Nuclear Ports are the game's economic cornerstone. They are built on radioactive deposit segments (the glowing hexes visible since Universe 2) and generate Neutronium income every round. The income formula is exponential:
Nuclear Port Income Scaling
- 1 Nuclear Port → 2 Nn/round
- 2 Nuclear Ports → 5 Nn/round
- 3 Nuclear Ports → 10 Nn/round
- 5 Nuclear Ports → 40 Nn/round
- 10 Nuclear Ports → 220 Nn/round
The marginal value of each additional port — +3, +5, +15, eventually +40 per port — increases with count. The critical implication: the player who builds the most Nuclear Ports fastest generates a compounding income advantage that funds every other strategic objective. The catch-up mechanic for Nuclear Ports (destructibility) does not activate until Universe 10. In Universes 5–9, Nuclear Ports are permanent once built.
