Neutronium: Parallel Wars Newsletter

The newsletter is the best way to follow Neutronium: Parallel Wars from where it is now — active playtesting, 25 years of design converging on a Kickstarter launch — to where it is going. Design updates, playtest session recaps, component reveals, and Kickstarter early-bird alerts: all delivered to your inbox 1–2 times per month.

What You'll Get

Every email in this list is written by the designer — there is no marketing team, no ghostwriter, no templated content. What you receive is a direct line to the development process of a game that has been in design for 25 years and is now in its final stretch before a Kickstarter campaign.

The frequency is honest: 1–2 emails per month outside of the launch window. During the Kickstarter campaign itself — which is expected to run for approximately 30 days — the cadence increases to weekly, to keep backers informed of stretch goals, unlocks, and late-backer updates. After the campaign concludes, subscribers who opt in receive production and fulfillment updates.

Previous Newsletters

Not sure what you are signing up for? Here is a representative sample of what past newsletters contained. These are the kinds of emails you will receive — not promotional blasts, but actual development updates with substantive content.

February 2026
Session Recap: Universe 7–8 Testing at Board Game Cafe Berlin
A 6-player TTS session and a 4-player physical session both ran Universe 7 content. Key finding: the Asters' Advanced Station was producing Nn at a rate 40% above design target in 6-player games, creating a compounding economic lead that was too difficult to contest diplomatically. Adjustment: Advanced Station output capped at 5x base rather than unlimited multiplier. Session ran 58 minutes. Feedback summary attached.
March 2026
Balance Change Log: Race Adjustments After 4 Sessions
Four mechanics adjusted following the February testing round. Mi-TO army deployment cost reduced by 1 Nn per unit (was too slow to contest mid-game territory grabs). Iit Nuclear Port free starting bonus confirmed stable — no adjustment needed. Terano diplomatic income formula revised: now scales with number of active trade agreements rather than flat rate. Asters Advanced Station cap implemented as described in last issue. Full changelog with before/after numbers included.
April 2026
Component Reveal: The Hex Territory Tiles (Full Production Mockups)
First look at the production-quality mockups for the 18 hex territory tiles. Each tile shows terrain type, Neutronium deposit indicator, wormhole connection point (if applicable), and territory name from the lore. Photos of all 18 tiles spread on a table, plus close-up of the Neutronium deposit iconography. Subscriber-exclusive 48 hours before posting to Discord and Reddit.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often does the Neutronium: Parallel Wars newsletter send emails?
The newsletter sends 1–2 emails per month on average. During quiet development periods it may send fewer. In the weeks immediately before and during the Kickstarter campaign launch it will send more frequently — typically one per week. You will never receive daily emails. Each email contains substantive content: a design update, a session recap, a component reveal, or a direct action item like a playtest invitation or early-bird pricing alert.
What is the early-bird pricing tier for newsletter subscribers?
Newsletter subscribers will receive access to a pre-launch early-bird pricing tier that is not publicly advertised on the Kickstarter page. The exact discount percentage will be confirmed closer to the campaign launch, but the structure is: subscribers who back within the first 48 hours of the campaign going live receive a discount versus standard campaign pricing. This tier has a limited number of slots and is exclusively communicated via the newsletter — it will not be announced on social media or Discord until after subscriber slots are filled.
Can I unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time?
Yes. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can also reply to any email with 'unsubscribe' and the designer will remove you manually within 24 hours. Your email address will not be shared with third parties, sold, or used for any purpose other than Neutronium: Parallel Wars newsletter communications. The mailing list will be deleted after the Kickstarter campaign concludes unless you opt in to ongoing backer updates.
What if I prefer Discord or Reddit over email?
The Discord server and the Reddit community are both active alternatives to the newsletter. Design updates and playtest session recaps are also posted in Discord's #design-diary channel and on the subreddit. The key difference is timing: newsletter subscribers receive Kickstarter early-bird pricing alerts 24–48 hours before they are shared anywhere else. If missing a time-sensitive backer discount is acceptable to you, Discord and Reddit are fully sufficient ways to follow the project.
